Year 3 and 4 WASP Netball and Volleyball Festival of Fun at Allenbourn
The First WASP Sports Festival for 2018-19
Year 3 and 4 Foxes travelled with Merley First School to join Pamphill and St. John’s C of E First Schools at amazing Allenbourn Middle School. We had great fun with the excellent teachers and sports leaders both outside and indoors. Lucy said, “It was exciting!” Samuel thought, “It was a unique experience - we don’t usually do this on a daily basis so it was great to visit Allenbourn.” Abigail said, “Some of us haven’t been to Allenbourn before and it was exciting to find out what it’s like there!”
Bobby said, “I liked the throwing game with the volleyball. You had to throw it over the net!” The sports leaders were Year 8s, who were excellent at coaching us and helped us to take turns. They were also spectacularly skilled at the games so we learnt lots from them!
We were learning how to catch and throw using bean bags and volleyballs. We also had to work as a team and make sure we ran into a space for our team mate to throw the bean bag to! It was a good idea to play games against the other schools too because we got to meet new friends and work with others.
We are thankful to the organisers including Mrs Cole and are looking forward to the next one already!
