Pre-historic Trip For Foxes!
Stonehenge trip for Year 3 and 4
Foxes class stepped out of the classroom by travelling back to pre-history and walking in the footsteps of their ancestors at a recent trip to Stonehenge. The monument was an impressive site! They walked around the Stone Circle, found out what a henge actually is, identified the different types of stone, hand a go at trying to move the them into place, found out more about the diet and lifestyle of the people who built it and touched ancient replica Bronze Age and ancient objects. They envisaged the sun rising and setting through the gaps in the stone and spotted many burial sites in the landscape around the area.
Foxes are very grateful for Friends of Witchampton who donated money to cover the cost of the trip and to English Heritage for being so accommodating and knowledgeable.
