Foxes' Tag Rugby Festival at Allenbourn

On Monday 18th March 2019, Foxes class travelled to Allenbourn Middle School to further our tag rugby skills at a festival organised by the Wimborne Area Sports Partnership. To start with, we certainly improved our agility by playing quick games, such as follow my leader touch-down, and running quickly in different directions so it would be harder for our opponents to grab our TAGs! The Year 8 Sports Leaders encouraged us to go forward when both attacking and defending and we soon realised we needed to run forward towards a space if we wanted to save our TAGs! We then moved on to passing once we had been tagged and these mini games were the most rewarding because everyone got a go at being an attacker or defender - either throwing or catching the ball or grabbing tags. Because the games were therefore quite short, we all felt that we had an equal chance of being successful. And we were! Mrs Green was really proud that we were all working collaboratively and respectfully (our half term school value focus) even when we were oppositions. We are looking forward to another festival in May at Wimborne Rugby Club!
