New News Story
Badger class and Hedgehog class have fun when Dorset Fire and rescue pay them a visit.
This morning Badgers and Hedgehogs classes had some important visitors. Mr Sweet and his fellow Firefighters came into school to talk to the children about their role in the fire service. They discussed fire safety and also how to be safe in a car. He told us a story about a dragon who came to tea and the children got to act out the story using lots of props. The most exciting part of the morning was having a look at the fire engine! The Firefighters showed us around the appliance, explaining what all the equipment was for and Mrs Saberton got to try on the suits that the firefighters wear! Our time looking at the appliance ended with everyone getting a chance to squirt water out of one of the hoses. We all got a bit wet. Mr Sweet later told us to check our smoke detectors once a week - Test it Tuesday and he taught us what to do in a fire - Get out! Stay out! Call 999!
